Kandia Batchelor is an Associate with Peterson Bernard in the Fort Lauderdale office. Joining the firm in July of 2019, Ms. Batchelor brings a variety of skills and experience in the criminal, civil and family-civil arenas.
Ms. Batchelor attended Florida State University for her undergraduate studies, where she received her BS in Business Management & Marketing, her MBA at Florida International University, and JD at Nova Southeastern University. During law school, she was a national finalist at the NBLSA Thurgood Marshall Mock Southeastern Trial Competition, an active member of Nova Trial Association, Association of Business Law Student, Black Law Student Association (BLSA), and the Christian Legal Society Fellowship. Ms. Batchelor was admitted to the Florida Bar in April of 2013. She is currently a member of Broward Bar Association, Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association, TJ Reddick Bar Association, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.
As an active member of her community, Ms. Batchelor has organized and participated in several community outreach event such as: “Know Your Rights” Community Forum, Playground Mobilization Restoration Project- Broward College (North) Daycare Center, The American Board of Trial Advocates: National High School Mock Trial Competition Volunteer Judge, Food Donations Drive-Broward Outreach Center for the Homeless, Soup Kitchen Server (Local Homeless Shelters in Broward County), “Rights Restoration/Re-entry” Program-Broward County, and Boys & Girls Club Mentor & Tutor/Community Youth Outreach Volunteer. Ms. Batchelor believes that being an advocate in both the courtroom and the community has helped shape who she is today.
